KYUQUOT SOUND
There is a new kid on the block -- or should we say water? West Coast Resorts recently purchased Walter's Cove Lodge, and their season started on 30 May with 16 guests. Starting last July and through August they have been accommodating 22 guests per night. West Coast Resorts operates four floating lodges along the North Coast and Queen Charlottes, and has long been known in the sport fishing industry for providing world-class service. This land-based facility is their first located on Vancouver Island. When asked why his company decided to invest in Kyuquot, West Coast Resorts Vice-president Frank Tureczek answered, Kyuquot has a spectacular fishery in an untouched, remote territory. Historically, Kyuquot is the number one fishing ground. Our goals are to offer guests full service fishing and a unique holiday experience.
